Parallel 45 – What Does It Mean?

We often get asked, how did you come up with the name Parallel 45 Design Group Ltd? What does it mean?

To us, it has many meanings.

The process of our name change (formerly Turnbull Design Consultants Ltd.) has been in the works for quite awhile but only became official April 1, 2014.  We had been working with our branding team Cinnamon Toast since 2013 to come up with the perfect brand image that in no particular order reflects us, our work and our name.

Our philosophy is to work parallel with our Clients. A successful project always includes a cohesive team and partnership. We feel strongly about this.

The term parallel is not only a geometric term which refers to a series of lines in a plane but also a latitudinal reference. Since we are located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, we wanted to reference our location on the 45^th parallel. This reference to ‘45’ also plays with geometry as it forms part of an angle, which we use often in space planning.
